Our Name
Ruth N Rae is a company that blossomed from our Founder's love and desire to honor her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Ruth N. Rankins-Watford. Ms. Ruth, or "Puddin" as she was so affectionately called by her family and friends, passed away in 2019. Ms. Ruth believed in the healing power of plants, in particular, succulents such as the aloe plant. She was passionate about the nurture and care of these plants, as she often had aloe growing and thriving inside her home. It was this dedication that sparked Latoya's interests in aromatics and apothecary. Therefore, Ruth N Rae is a proud legacy in remembrance of Ruth N. Rankins-Watford."Ruth N" is her first name and middle initial, while "Rae" is a whimsical shortened version of her maiden name. We are honored to bear Ms. Ruth's name on our journey.
A Message From Latoya
I am so excited to be walking this path called Ruth N Rae. The name is deeply personal to me and is a daily reminder of the strength and grace that my grandmother instilled within me. For as long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with hair, makeup and helping people. Everyday, I have the honor of doing all three behind the chair.
I have been a licensed cosmetologist for over 13 years. In that time, I have had the opportunity to coach and develop stylists, manage and build a successful salon business in a corporate setting and build incredible relationships with my amazing clients!
I pride myself on being proficient with ALL hair types and textures. Not only do I love performing a great hair transformation, I also love teaching my clients about their hair and how to care for it. Everyday I seek to enhance the natural beauty that lies within and help guide each client on their own beautiful journey!
